HARRIET BENTON

Harriet started learning the violin by the Suzuki method with Elisabeth Waterhouse at the age of three. She attended Lauderdale groups and later also learned with Jane Afia.

 

As a teenager she attended the junior departments of the Royal College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she studied with Miriam Morley and Detlef Hahn respectively.

 

She studied the violin at Trinity College of Music for four years with Michael Bochmann gaining a BMus (Hons) Performance Degree.

 

Since leaving Trinity she has completed levels 1 – 4 Suzuki teacher training.

 

She has been teaching and playing since leaving university in 2003 and currently teaches Suzuki violin at Southbank International School and privately.
