About the Group
Lauderdale Suzuki Group is part of the British Suzuki Institute and the London Suzuki Group. The Group consists of 5 violin teachers and 3 musicianship teachers/accompanists.
The Lauderdale Suzuki Group was founded by Elisabeth Waterhouse in 1978. We started with only about 30 children and this has now expanded to around 80 families. The Group takes its name from the fine 17th century building, Lauderdale House, which is situated on the edge of Waterlow Park in Highgate.
We take over the building on Wednesday afternoons and use all available spaces for our Music Classes. The house provides a beautiful venue full of light and charm and the Group considers itself very fortunate to be able to use it. There are the added bonuses of an excellent Cafe and gardens for all to relax in at free moments. The Art Exhibitions in the main Galleries give an added dimension to Music lessons.
